Job Description General Description

The Storeroom Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization, inventory, and distribution of materials, tools, and supplies within a storeroom or warehouse. They ensure efficient storage, proper record-keeping, and timely issuance of items to relevant departments.

Essential Functions
  • Sourcing:
    • Order all goods for the plant except for raw materials and track their min max levels ensuring other departments always have stock of regular use items.
    • Negotiate all costs and freight with vendors when ordering goods.
    • Reviewing and issuing purchase requisitions thru Maximo and/or JDE.
    • Negotiates contracts with vendors.
  • Receiving:
    • Receives all goods for the plant except for manufacturing raw materials.
    • Inspects, organizes, verifies, and stocks all storeroom parts once received.
  • Storeroom Management:
    • General housekeeping and organization (5S) of storeroom.
    • Maintain and stock inventory of machine parts and supplies ensuring inventory accuracy while issuing parts to end users.
    • Maintain security and controlled access to the storeroom.
    • Manage the parts criticality assessment program so all parts being requested to stock in the storeroom go through this assessment tool gaining approval prior to stocking a new item in the storeroom.
    • Organize parts in the storeroom so they are easily accessible by everyone.
    • Create and manage a system so repairable parts, that are removed from the machine, are inventoried, and sent out for repairs.
    • Ensure items being returned from outside suppliers to the storeroom are in specification per the drawings, etc. before accepting and stocking in the assigned storage location.
    • Review slow moving/obsolete inventory working closely with the maintenance and operations leadership.
  • Cycle Count Program
    • Keeping up with routine monthly cycle counts to maintain accurate parts count in the Inventory system.
    • Generating and performing inventory cycle counts and tracking KPI with Corrective Actions for misses.
    • Ensure all inventory adjustments are investigated to find the root cause and corrections of the problems before an adjustment is made.
    • Identifying improvements and accuracy for Min/Max levels, especially when Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is solving repetitive problems that extend the life cycle of equipment.
    • Daily cycle counts.
    • Complete a full physical of all parts in the storeroom based on management’s designated frequency.
  • Daily Maintenance/Contractor Support
    • Kit jobs daily for work orders created by the maintenance planners.
    • Organizes all Contractor parts that are drop shipped to the plant.
    • Works closely with the maintenance planners and leadership to ensure they have all the parts needed to effectively maintain the operation.
    • Ensure all parts are correctly charged to the work orders in which they will be used.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills
  • Have a track record of successfully managing a manufacturing plant storeroom
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Successful track record for working with and servicing multiple department’s inventory needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, JDE, and Maximo
  • Forklift and Scissor lift certified
  • Ability to read blueprints utilizing DNA and Auto Cad
  • Ability to train others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Beneficial Experience and Skills
  • Knowledge of production methods and coordination of resources.
  • Experience in making data-driven decisions and utilization of statistics to solve problems and monitor processes.
