Overview

Production Operator, Dillon, South Carolina

What

You’ll Do
  • Work under direct supervision and direction of Leadhand to accomplish assigned tasks on a day-to-day basis.
  • Interact with equipment and control panels during the manufacturing process according to established procedures.
  • Monitor machine settings to keep machines running to reduce downtime and scrap.
  • Operate process equipment such as rollers, pumps, mixers, dryers, control panels, and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and issues during process changes.
  • Perform In-Process Checks to verify production and quality using instrumentation and lab equipment.
  • Monitor processes within area of accountability and inform the Leadhand of any changes.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products following established procedures. Materials include paper rolls, finished film rolls, tanker trailers, box trucks, and bulk trucks.
  • Operate a roll clamp or forklift to load and unload raw materials (rolls, pallets, totes, bags).
  • Collaborate with management and Leadhand to meet production, maintenance, and shipping schedules.
  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements.
  • Actively report safety-related issues from the production floor to the Leadhand and HSE department.
  • Follow all site rules and procedures related to quality, health, safety, and environment.
  • Work with Leadhand and Technical Support to resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Respond to alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinate timely confirmation and corrective actions.
  • Maintain clean work areas and equipment, free of debris at all times.
  • Housekeeping of equipment and surrounding areas to prevent process or safety hazards.
  • Drive a clamp truck and/or forklift.
Opportunity

  • Become Forklift & Clamp Truck Certified.
To be successful, you will need
  • High School Diploma OR GED OR 4+ years of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Basic math skills including use of a calculator and a tape measure.
  • Forklift experience is a plus but you must be able to become certified.
  • Analytical and mechanical mindset required for success in this role.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (Days/Nights/Evenings).
  • Ability to follow strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; may include lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, and climbing stairs.
  • Willingness to work around chemicals and industrial environments during continuous operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
