Under the direction of the Plant Leader, and often working independently, provide mechanical maintenance services to the operation through troubleshooting, welding, rigging, millwrighting, etc. The position will coordinate repairs, determine supplies and spare parts needed, and secure materials deliveries. Be on call for any plant maintenance needs. Fill in for Process Technicians and perform all plant operations as needed.
- Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures. Attend safety training meetings as scheduled. Adheres to all company and corporate policies.
- Maintain supply of expendable operating supplies.
- Function as mechanical maintenance troubleshooter.
- Work with and train Plant Process Technicians and Material Handlers to perform plant maintenance functions.
- Install mechanical systems needed to improve operations and produce products.
- Operate forklift, railcar mover, and manlift as required. Operate plant as needed.
- Employee will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelors or Technical Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred or a High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five years in an industrial mechanical maintenance environment required. - Experience:
5+ years of experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance environment preferred - Knowledge:
Knowledge of bulk material handling systems equipment preferred. Perform electrical maintenance, and have basic knowledge of PLC, VFD, electrical systems and general process instrument knowledge and experience is highly desirable. - Skills:
Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office including Excel preferred. Candidate must have good writing and communication skills. - Abilities:
Be able to climb ladders & stairs and not have a fear of heights. - Travel:
May occasionally be required to travel to other corporate locations for training and operational assistance. - Behaviors:
Candidate must be self-motivated and have initiative to work as an empowered team with all the employees didate will be expected to operate a safe and efficient plant, maximize production, and reduce costs. Candidate must be comfortable interacting with vendors and contractors.
