Supervisor - Operations

Position Description

Direct and supervise the Charge Bucket and Cut yard, facilities and equipment for the safe and efficient transfer of materials between scrapline and mill as well as to and from the cut yard. Direct and supervise rail activity, loading and unloading of cars.

• Ø Manages Cut yard operations to include all tasks related to temp personel. Including management of PPE and interacting with Temp provider to insure suffeciant personel. Insuring that all safety and environmental requirements related to cut yard and baghouse are met.
• Ø Manages Scrap line and Charge Bucket Operations. Oversees Pile management and charge bucket operations. Acts as a liason between mill supervisor and activites related to those operations including attending daily melt shop meetings.
• Ø Must be able to operate various types of terminal equipment (loaders,material handlers,haul trucks,excavators)
• Ø Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.
• Ø Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Ø Completes weekly employee schedule for his areas and direct reports, and assigns duties.
• Ø Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Ø Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Ø Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Ø Maintains time and production records.
• Ø Performs activities of workers supervised.
• Ø Other duties as assigned.
