The Division of Marketing at the University of South Carolina is seeking a Project & Traffic Manager to manage key projects and initiatives associated with the Division and other key academic and administrative units within the university. The manager has a passion for workflow products, tools, and tactics that assist in streamlining projects across the division. The manager ensures team members are informed and have the tools they need to deliver projects on time and on budget.
The manager exhibits a creative curiosity and has a commitment to life‑long learning and professional development. The manager is accountable for timely and clear communications, surfacing potential issues, ensuring stakeholder awareness and fostering collaboration across teams. This individual brings energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit to work collaboratively across the university.
Master’s degree in communications or related field and 4 years public relations experience in an administrative capacity. Academic preparation in various electronic design applications, expert knowledge of typography, current design and branding standards, visual communications, printing/production techniques and other aspects of communications design.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Organized, detail-oriented, self-starter skills with professional presence.
- Ability to adapt to new technology including production management and team collaboration software.
- Proficiency in project management tools is a must. Experience in Basecamp and Lytho is a bonus, but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PPT.
- Verbal communication skills and an open, collaborative approach are necessary for success in this role.
- Ability to define problems first, then solve them through strategic thought and planning.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work in a rapid-response, team environment.
