Location: Columbia
Overview
Supervise/monitor the operation of the Emergency Action Center/VIC Center.
Responsible for personnel and their compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures.
Coordinates communication functions with SCDC, SLED, other law enforcement agencies and other state agencies during emergencies.
Serves as central communications center for non-emergency functions.
ResponsibilitiesSupervises, evaluates performance, recommends or takes appropriate action on all personnel matters.
Operates and monitors all communications equipment.
Provides information and support to field personnel, SLED, other law enforcement agencies and other state agencies and emergency services.
Responds to requests for assistance.
Develops work schedules ensuring 24 hours/7 days per week coverage.
Directs proper operational procedures and training of employees.
Ensures required logs, reports and records are maintained on communications, information from law enforcement agencies, incidents, accidents, etc.
Acts as NCIC/CIIS terminal agency coordinator.
Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant supervisory experience. A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required supervisory experience.
SCDC
Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and eight (8) years’ experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include four (4) years of supervisory experience.
A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (Associate and above = 2 years) (Bachelor's and above = 4 years).
Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
Must be certified to operate the NCIC SLED/CJIS computer system and other necessary equipment within six (6) months of entry into the position.
