About the Company

This privately held design-build firm is known for timeless design, craftsmanship, and an elevated client experience that has set the bar across its market. Over the past four years—through one of the most unpredictable periods in the industry—the company not only stayed steady but accelerated its growth, strengthening systems, elevating standards, and laying a foundation for long‑term success.

What truly defines this firm is its culture. It’s family‑oriented, values‑driven, professional, and collaborative. Integrity, accountability, and care for both clients and colleagues are lived every day, not just written on a wall.

This is a place where passion for the craft meets discipline in execution — where belief in people and belief in excellence fuel every project and every decision.

The Opportunity

The COO will join a thriving, values‑led organization and serve as the operational anchor — bringing structure, clarity, and scalable systems that allow the leadership team to keep building momentum.

Above all, this role requires an exceptional people leader — someone who can empower, align, and grow teams while reinforcing the culture that makes this company stand apart. The right person will know how to connect vision to execution, elevate leaders across departments, and create rhythm, trust, and accountability throughout the organization.

This is about amplifying what already works — helping a great company scale without losing the heart and craftsmanship that made it great in the first place.

Key Responsibilities Lead & Empower People
  • Build trust, accountability, and engagement across construction, design, cabinetry, pre‑construction, and administrative teams.
  • Coach and develop leaders, fostering ownership and alignment.
  • Strengthen the company’s culture by modeling its values in everyday decisions and communication.
  • Build and refine operational systems, processes, and rhythms that enable sustainable growth.
  • Ensure tools, SOPs, and best practices are not only implemented, but adopted and lived by the team.
  • Simplify complexity — creating clarity, consistency, and flow.
Ensure Capacity & Flow
  • Oversee scheduling and capacity planning, ensuring projects move seamlessly from design through construction.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and resolve them before they disrupt workflow or client experience.
Financial & Strategic Alignment
  • Partner with the President and accounting team to connect operational performance with financial outcomes.
  • Track key metrics and communicate insights that drive proactive decision‑making.
  • Balance growth with sustainability and margin integrity.
Uphold Standards & Client Experience
  • Protect the company’s reputation for excellence in design, craftsmanship, and service.
  • Hold teams accountable to milestones, quality benchmarks, and communication standards.
Integrate Across Divisions
  • Act as the operational bridge between current and future divisions.
  • Align shared resources such as marketing, finance, and administration.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that turn vision into reality without sacrificing day‑to‑day stability.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven success leading and empowering multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Track record of building trust, accountability, and alignment across departments.
  • Strong operational acumen — able to design and implement systems, training, and accountability structures that scale.
  • Experience guiding organizations through growth or transition with calm, clarity, and consistency.
  • Financial literacy and business insight to connect operations with strategic and financial goals.
Preferred Background
  • 5–10+ years in senior leadership, operations, or general management.
  • Experience in construction, design‑build, or related industries preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar.
  • Comfortable engaging with discerning clients and upholding brand standards.
  • A relational leader who balances accountability with empathy.
  • Growth‑minded and energized by building systems that empower people.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive in complexity, and values‑driven at every turn.
  • Willing to live in or relocate to South Carolina.
Success in this Role Looks Like:
  • The leadership team operates with proactive rhythm and clarity.
  • Systems and training create consistency across divisions.
  • The company’s culture and client experience remain as exceptional as its growth trajectory.
