Job Summary
Summary: To lead and accomplish work related to the cleaning of the University’s Student Union (Russell House) and Thomas Cooper Library. Will act as weekend shift crew leader and will supervise custodial workers.
Responsibilities- Organizes, supervises and conducts special event cleaning activities.
- Conducts routine inspection of restrooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, office spaces, stairwells, event spaces, entry ways, and elevators to ensure APPA level 1 cleaning standards.
- Responsible for performing cleaning tasks at the University Student Union, Russell House and Thomas Cooper Library. Leads small team of custodial workers in maintaining APPA Level 1 Cleaning Levels. Operates cleaning equipment, empties trash/recycling, and cleans all public spaces, meeting rooms, restrooms, office spaces, stairwells, elevators, etc.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of routine custodial reports and records. Proficient in MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Observes, logs and reports maintenance deficiencies and repairs to other Facilities Department units.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Confer with building supervisor regarding planning and prioritizing care and cleaning of Russell House, Thomas Cooper Library, and matters dealing with corrective and disciplinary actions concerning custodial staff.

Percentage of time - 10% - Conducts additional duties as needed to maintain cleaning standards and campus facilities.
- Job Related Minimum Required
Education And Experience:
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 2 or more years of job related experience. - Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials: Driver’s license required.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of efficient cleaning procedures and executive level cleaning requirements. Ability to plan and manage supplies, equipment and temporary help needs. Ability to read, understand and carry out both verbal and written instructions, policies and procedures in an independent manner. Ability to work on multiple projects with tight time constraints. Ability to make decisions with limited guidance. Ability to demonstrate strong customer service practices when challenged.
Ability to receive and follow instructions accurately.
