Columbia, SC – Department: SAAS Housing - Custodial Operations. Position:
Full‑time swing‑shift custodial worker.

Hours:

4:00 AM–12:30 PM Wednesday through Sunday (40 hours per week). Salary: $16.52 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential.

• Maintain floors of wood, ceramic tile, cement, brick, and linoleum.
• Respond to emergencies, including extracting water from floors and carpeted areas during flooding to prevent water damage.
• Assist with preparation for and clean‑up of university special events.
• Apply total quality management/continuous improvement principles and processes.
• Serve as essential personnel during inclement or hazardous weather and other emergencies.

• 1 year related experience or equivalent.

Temporary employees expected to work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for health and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and retirement programs through the State of SC and Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA).

Employees in safety‑sensitive or security‑sensitive positions subject to pre‑ and post‑employment drug testing in accordance with University policy HR 1.95. No hazardous weather category. Position essential.
