Carrier Sales Manager at LST Group, LLC
Role DescriptionLST Group is seeking an energetic, highly driven Carrier Sales Manager for our Columbia, SC branch to support our rapidly expanding customer base. You will manage day‑to‑day operations of high‑volume, high‑demand, and sometimes hazardous material shipper clients, providing the best solutions for freight transportation goals while expanding carrier partnerships and ensuring outstanding service & communication to LST customers.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with the Sales & Account Management teams to manage the full lifecycle of shipments from quoting rates to securing capacity for clients’ loads.
- Execute exceptional service for customers, ensuring order needs, pickup and delivery times, and resolving any issues in transit.
- Monitor shipment status, proactively communicate updates or delays, and resolve any service‑related issues.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with strategic carriers, focusing on contractual partnerships to support revenue growth.
- Work closely with carrier partners to ensure capacity, compliance, and performance standards.
- Analyze client needs and offer tailored logistics solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and industry regulations specific to hazardous material transport, partnering with carriers who meet or exceed safety & performance standards.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry for all orders, load details, client information, and shipment updates into TMS and internal databases.
- Strong understanding of transportation commodities, standards, supply chain management, and logistics procedures.
- Well versed in transportation and the needs of hazmat shippers.
- Experience shipping high‑volume, high‑demand, sensitive‑commodity freight.
- Experience with seasonal market shifts, pricing, and hazardous delivery requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Market knowledge, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain long‑term customer relationships.
