About the Firm:
We are a South Carolina workers’ compensation law firm exclusively representing injured workers. Our practice is fast-paced, client-focused, and driven by advocacy, precision, and results. We are seeking a Paralegal to support our attorneys and legal team in managing workers’ compensation claims from intake through resolution.
Position Overview:
The Workers’ Compensation Paralegal will play a key role in the day-to-day handling of claimant files, attorney support, client communication, and coordination with medical providers, insurance carriers, and the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Responsibilities- Manage and maintain workers’ compensation files from intake through settlement or hearing
- Draft and assist with preparation of legal documents including Forms 50, 61, 20, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence
- Communicate regularly with injured clients regarding case status, medical treatment, and benefits
- Request, track, and organize medical records, wage records, and employment documentation
- Coordinate medical appointments, depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Calendar deadlines and ensure compliance with statutory and procedural requirements
- Communicate with adjusters, defense counsel, medical providers, and Commission staff
- Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, settlement demands, and trial notebooks
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in the firm’s case management system
- Prior experience as a workers’ compensation paralegal or legal assistant (South Carolina experience strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission forms and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and files
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a legal team
- Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.
