Summary

Morgan & Morgan is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its quickly growing practice of plaintiff's personal injury lawyers and supporting case staff in our office in Columbia, SC.

The Person al Injury Attorney will handle a heavy and complex caseload from pre-litigation, litigation, trial prep and trial. Cases may include representing plaintiffs in motor vehicle and other cases in and around Columbia.

Our law firm offers generous and competitive compensation including a base salary, guaranteed commission, and ongoing commission bonuses (uncapped), as well as a full benefits package. Each litigator will have a large case staff assisting them, including a dedicated paralegal and a dedicated legal assistant.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day handling of both pre-litigation and litigation cases
  • Drafting and filing of litigation documents including pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions and memoranda of law
  • Guide plaintiff clients through the case process
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses including conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
  • Attend and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
Qualifications
  • Law degree (J.D. / JD / Juris Doctor) from a fully accredited law school
  • An active member in good standing with the State Bar Association (SC required)
  • Minimum 2+ years of personal injury / premises liability experience
  • Ability to manage a high volume of pre-litigation and litigation cases
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
