Seeking a zVM Administrator for an opportunity located in Columbia, SC. This will be a hybrid role with an onsite expectation Tues, Wed, Thurs. This will be a long term contract (12 month minimum). Candidate must be a Green Card Holder, US Citizen.
What You Will Do In This Role- Checking system health—reviewing logs, monitoring alerts, and ensuring servers and critical services are running smoothly.
- Ensures systems are stable, secure, and ready for whatever workloads come next.
- Perform operational support for zVM environment.
- Work tickets, perform upgrades, participate in disaster recovery exercises.
4 Years IT experience including varied programming experience in Linux and zVM.
Required Technologies- zVM, RACF, Operations Manager, IBM Backup and Restore Manager, IBM Tape Manager
2-3 people specific to zVM but part of a larger 14 person team. Onsite in Columbia Tues-Thurs. Core Work Hours - 8am – 5 pm. Some overtime, travel, on call, weekends, off hours if needed.
Required Education- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job related field or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
