Job TitleDatabase Administrator Consultant
Job LocationBlythewood, SC 29016
Work LocationHybrid position; however, remote capability is very limited. The candidate should expect to be onsite five days per week. Remote days are based on project needs and DMV discretion.
Candidate LocationResources must be local to South Carolina. The hiring manager is open to candidates local to North Carolina if they will commute to Columbia, SC five days per week.
Work ScheduleWeekend hours and on-call rotation are expected based on project needs at DMV discretion.
Required Skills- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server 2019 and 2022
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Reports Designer
- 5+ years of experience with BI tools and design
- 5+ years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator
- 2+ years of experience working with state government agencies
- Data Domain Boost (DD Boost) to support backup and restore operations for SQL Servers
- Experience with Oracle 19 database operations
- Experience with Oracle Grid Control
- Experience with ERwin Data Modeler
- SQL Server:
- Set up and maintain data replication and mirroring
- Configure maintenance automation
- Perform backup and recovery
- Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, including after-hours and weekends
- Monitor SQL Server environments
- Install and configure new SQL Servers
- Develop and support data warehouses and cubes using SQL Server Analysis Services
- Migrate SQL Server databases to SQL Server 2022
- Develop reports using SSRS
- Support SSIS packages
- Develop database design, development, and management standards
- Consult with developers regarding database design
- Implement and support third-party databases for vendor-supplied applications
- Oracle 19 (Desired):
- Analyze, develop, and support stored procedures and SQL
- Business Intelligence:
- Design, develop, and manage dashboards and reports using BI solutions
- Data Modeling (as assigned):
- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeler
- Ensure database designs support scalability, integrity, and performance requirements
- Collaborate with data architects, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into data models
- Perform modeling activities in Oracle databases and, when required, MS SQL databases
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field
