OverviewContributes as a part of a team to the design and usability of internal and external browser‑based applications throughout the scope, development, and implementation process. Transforms concepts and requirements into usable interfaces that are aligned with business goals, user goals, and system constraints while applying best practices.
Responsibilities- 40% – under the guidance of a higher level designer, create user‑friendly, effective, and engaging user interfaces for platforms including mobile, tablet, or desktop applications. Hone the skills needed to create user interface design artifacts to describe the intended user experience.
- 25% – provide support and documentation to help maintain the usability integrity of application systems. Learn to establish standards, best practices, and processes. Research user‑centered design best practices, innovations, trends, and methodologies.
- 20% – identify user needs, elicit user feedback, conduct user research activities and task flow analysis to improve user experience of each application. Synthesize research findings into meaningful recommendations and actionable results. Share user data and insights with the team to communicate user needs and best practices. Test and refine design decisions based on user feedback and analytics.
- 15% – work as a member of a team to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including business and application development teams. Serve as a true advocate for our users and thoroughly understand how audiences interact with our applications. Evangelize user experience best practices and collaborate with customer and internal team members to validate conceptual designs.
- Solid technical knowledge of user experience and usability best practices and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of page layout and interface design concepts.
- Solid understanding of markup and style sheet languages (HTML/CSS) and optimizing design concepts around these technologies.
- Good understanding of graphic design and typography.
- Demonstrates flexibility for adapting to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
- Solid analytical and research skills.
- Ability to interpret data and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business staff.
- Solid conceptual problem‑solving skills.

Required Education- Bachelor's Degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Research, Computer Science, Information Technology or another job‑related degree.
- 4 years of job‑related work experience.
- 2 years of job‑related experience plus an associate’s degree in any of the above disciplines.
- 2 years of user interface design experience.
Solid experience with Figma UI design tool and understanding of JavaScript‑based applications.
Nice to Have- JavaScript development experience, including Node.js and Vue.js.
