The State of South Carolina’s Office of Cybersecurity is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Cybersecurity Analyst to support enterprise cloud security initiatives. This role focuses on securing the Agency’s cloud infrastructure while performing ongoing cybersecurity threat monitoring, detection, and incident response. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast‑paced, complex environment requiring minimal supervision and strong independent problem‑solving skills. This position reports directly to the CISO and plays a key role in strengthening cloud threat detection and response capabilities.

• Secure the Agency's cloud infrastructure
• Perform enterprise cybersecurity monitoring and incident response
• Support Agency, State, and Federal security & privacy compliance requirements
• Drive innovation and maturation of cloud security capabilities

• Monitor, detect, and respond to threats within cloud infrastructure
• Perform threat identification and risk analysis
• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments (Azure & cloud apps)
• Investigate and remediate compliance violations and security incidents
• Assist in building and maintaining Secure Cloud Architecture
• Support Continuous Monitoring & Incident Response processes
• Serve as Security Point of Contact for Cloud Infrastructure matters
• Perform security posture assessments using Azure‑native tools (Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Security Center, etc.)
• Provide cloud security architecture recommendations
• Create and maintain documentation for penetration testing and security processes
• Communicate project status and security posture to stakeholders

• 5+ years of Cyber Threat Monitoring, Detection, Response & Incident Handling
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and cloud-specific attack vectors
• Experience with vulnerability management & remediation in cloud environments
• 5+ years of IT experience (Windows, Linux, Cloud technologies, Web applications)
• Hands‑on experience with penetration testing tools:
  Burp Suite
• Metasploit
• Nmap
• Kali Linux
• Cloud Security or Architecture Certification

• 3+ years of experience with Cloud Platforms (in order of preference):
  Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Prisma Cloud, Dome9, or similar cloud security tools
• Experience with Cloud Governance tools, CASBs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience designing & deploying inspection architecture in cloud environments
• Experience with full‑stack deployment
• Network Security Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline
• Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Security Engineer Associate
• CompTIA Cloud+
• CISSP
