Job Title: IT Healthcare Consultant Software Engineer
Location: 1801 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201
Work Mode: 100% Onsite (5 days/week)

Position OverviewSCDHHS is seeking an experienced IT Healthcare Consultant Software Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) and related System Center technologies. This role focuses on administration, customization, workflow automation, and enhancement of Service Manager request offerings in a healthcare‑regulated environment.
The selected candidate will serve as a Service Manager Engineer
, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborating closely with business units, technical teams, and leadership to deliver efficient, scalable service management solutions.
- Collect, analyze, and document business requirements for Service Manager requests
- Administer and configure Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM)
- Design, develop, and maintain request offerings, service offerings, and connectors
- Develop and maintain System Center Orchestrator workflows using Power Shell
- Administer and support integrations across System Center components:
- SCCM
- SCOM
- Orchestrator
- Maintain and support the Cireson Web Portal, including:
- Custom configurations
- JavaScript updates
- Software patching and vendor coordination
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and upgrades for:
- System Center
- Orchestrator
- Cireson products
- Act as SME/POC for Service Manager processes and best practices
- Lead initiatives to migrate and modernize the existing Service Manager environment
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to create technical and non‑technical deliverables
- Provide recommendations to leadership on process improvements and system efficiency
- Serve as liaison between technical teams and executive leadership
- Provide after‑hours support for projects and platform maintenance as required
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CDC, and healthcare IT standards
- 3+ years hands‑on experience with Microsoft System Center Service Manager (within last 3 years)
- 3+ years experience supporting System Center in enterprise environments
- 5+ years experience administering Windows Server environments
- 3+ years experience administering Microsoft Azure
- Strong experience with:
- Service Manager incidents, changes, and service configurations
- System Center Orchestrator workflow development
- Power Shell scripting (v5.1 or newer)
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (basic to intermediate)
- Experience with Active Directory & Microsoft Entra
- Experience working within IT methodology frameworks:
- ITIL
- MITA (or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Cireson Web Portal (last 3 years)
- JavaScript customization within Cireson
- Power BI reporting
- HTML, XML
- Power Shell automation
- Experience in healthcare or healthcare‑regulated environments
- Experience with large‑scale System Center migrations or implementations
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
Preferred:
- Microsoft Windows Server Administration Certifications
