Location: Columbia
Responsibilities
- Maintain workstation/server infrastructure standards and deploy infrastructure software to clients.
- Monitor devices for deviation and address issues promptly, administer and maintain tools for software delivery and remote management.
- Get new builds, master files, upgrades, and patches, record, verify, and coordinate customer requests to ensure appropriate distribution, and establish related processes such as email notifications and alerts.
- Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure software to support business processing requirements, develop, compile, test, debug, document, and maintain custom scripts and utilities.
- Create comprehensive test plans based on configurations and other specifications, and ensure recoverability by implementing scheduled system backups and database archive operations.
- Perform monitoring and maintenance of the workstation/server environment, tune the system for optimum performance, troubleshoot proactively, and act as a higher‑level support for help desk issues.
- Develop and maintain custom integration solutions, establish a standard configuration for software packages, and manage administrative tools for software delivery and remote management.
- Ensure continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements, and conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive infrastructure software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation, maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories.
- Experience working with UNIX‑based systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with system users to identify, explain, and resolve technical issues.
- Solid understanding of client/server architecture to diagnose and resolve system operation problems.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong understanding of relevant operating systems and server hardware/software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Citrix environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant work experience; OR
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Two (2) years of hands‐on experience supporting workstations, servers, and/or applications, including both hardware and software troubleshooting.
