Network Administrator

Under limited supervision, installs, configures and manages network devices, including but not limited to network switches, wireless access points, telephones, and surveillance cameras for all campuses.

• Manages applications and systems related to deployment, configuration, patching and monitoring of network devices.
• Troubleshoots network configuration and connectivity problems.
• Performs backups of configuration and data for network systems, and monitors network performance, security and logs.
• Provides end user support for network access. Assists with network hardware and network system installation and configuration.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus.

A high school diploma and experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas. An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for required experience.

• Ability to configure, deploy and troubleshoot network devices, including but not limited to switches, wireless access points, telephones, and surveillance cameras.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems as well as Cisco IOS and IOS-XE interfaces.
• Strong diagnostic skills and methodologies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Network+ certifications preferred.
