Jr Database Developer

Location:
Columbia, SC

• Develop and maintain a real-time data warehouse environment and create real-time feeds to all subscriber applications from the Data warehouse.
• Experience with Type 2 Dimension Data modeling and Historical ETL.
• Develop and support SQL Server database objects and code for BAU support.
• Develop and support SSIS integration jobs required to manage integration between application databases and the corporate data warehouse, including XML/CSV/Excel integration, business, and technical reconciliations.
• Develop and support SSRS reports (deployed on SharePoint).
• Provide and maintain documentation for all developed objects and processes.
• Use TFS to track all end-to-end changes and artifacts.
• Follow strict change control processes throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop and run test scripts to ensure code quality and data integrity.
• Test against acceptance criteria for requirements.
• Follow data and integration design patterns and architecture as prescribed by the Lead and/or Architect.

• Two to four years of experience supporting MSBI initiatives as a productive member of a Database team.
• Basic task management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks and issues.
• Ability to analyze, communicate, and resolve issues effectively.
• Ability to produce high-quality documentation within strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various teams (Business Analysts, Architects, Support, Business) especially on data quality issues.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
