Job Summary

Under general supervision, supports program projects for the School of Medicine-Columbia South Carolina Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare. This position will work closely with the Center’s directors and program managers to assure the execution of project plans, including establishing timelines and monitoring the achievement of milestones. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in coordinating programs, project management experience from conception to delivery.
  • Experience in public health, program evaluation, or healthcare systems.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc).
  • Experience with computer-based documentation and communication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Job Duties
  • Coordinates Center programs focused on healthcare delivery, including mobile healthcare units, telehealth, and other delivery programs. Coordinates with Center Program Managers on managing these programs, providing technical assistance, coordinating administrative support, performing onsite visits as needed, liaises with the programs and the Center, and works with the Center Research and Evaluation team for project impact assessment. Reports progress to the Center Program Officer.

  • Supports planning and coordination of non-healthcare delivery projects. Coordinates with Center Portfolio Managers on providing technical assistance, scheduling program meetings in Microsoft Outlook and Teams, documenting action items, and following up. Serves as liaison with the programs and Center. Works with the Center Research and Evaluation team for project impact assessment. Creates reports in Excel and Submittable. Reports progress to the Center Program Officer.

  • Coordinates development of topic-specific surveys and other data collection tools to gather information for projects within the Center, including electronic surveys in Survey Monkey, REDCap, in-person surveys, focus groups, and key informant interviews. Supports writing summary reports, disseminates results, coordinates with the Center Managers and Directors to incorporate findings into the Center’s programs and activities. (15%)
