This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033.
Responsibilities- As the Program Coordinator I / Outreach Coordinator, you will serve as an ambassador to engage organizations, community members, and individuals in various suicide prevention efforts. This could be by holding meetings, sharing resources, or providing trainings. You will also support the Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) on any state or grant initiatives.
- Provide SPP specific trainings, as well as other suicide prevention trainings, and resources across the state. Provide community outreach in assigned areas of coverage. Work closely with the mental health centers and organizations to assist with supporting their Zero Suicide Framework, will attend monthly and quarterly suicide prevention related meetings.
- Track outcomes and submit reports of program activities, trainings, meetings and outreach efforts. The outcome measures will be reviewed and utilized to see where outreach is needed across the area of coverage.

This would include responding to new questionnaires, dialogs, and updates on the platform. - Support outreach efforts through social media and will provide at least one social media post that aligns with the agency's mission, with a specific focus on suicide prevention and resources for the community.
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
- Knowledge in suicide prevention and knowledge in trainings related to suicide prevention.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
The selected candidate must be flexible and able to work beyond required hours of job on a case-by-case basis. Must be comfortable with public speaking and over time provide trainings to people.
