MUSC Health is hiring for the Patient Care Technician II position.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Measuring and documenting vital signs.
• Identifying patient concerns and reporting them to colleagues.
• Moving, turning, or relocating patients as required for comfort and medical needs.
• Communicating with the Manager, Charge Nurse, and other Care Team members.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 1 year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire; must maintain current BLS certification.

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, ascending/descending, working indoors and outdoors, working from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, pinching, gross motor activities, firm grasps, fine manipulation, reach overhead, repetitive motions, using lower extremities, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting 50 lbs from floor or 36 inches, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs, exerting up to 50 lbs of force, and other listed physical tasks.
