Registered Nurse – ICU PRN (MUSC Health)
Location: MUSC Health, Columbia, SC
Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient care in the ICU setting under general supervision.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
- Respond to emergencies and provide lifesaving interventions (BLS/ACLS).
- Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHA‑recognized organization or equivalent.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience in an ICU setting preferred.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and a latex‑safe environment.
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, crouching, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Also requires functional vision, hearing, and ability to work in temperature extremes and confined spaces. Must handle stressful situations and maintain physical endurance.
Employment Details- Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA)
- Worker Type: Employee – PRN
- Schedule: 12 hours per week (24‑ or 48‑hour shifts over a 6‑week cycle)
- Pay Rate: Hourly (Health‑28)
