Job Description
Entity/Organization: MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center)
Hours Per Week: 24 or 48 hrs per every 6-week schedule including weekend and holiday as outlined
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 12-hr shifts
Job Summary /PurposeUnder general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Minimum Training and EducationAssociate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, RegistrationsLicensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous); while sitting (Continuous); while walking (Continuous); climb stairs (Infrequent); work indoors (Continuous); work outside in temperature extremes (Infrequent); work from elevated areas (Frequent); work in confined/cramped spaces (Frequent); kneeling (Infrequent); bend at the waist (Continuous); twist at the waist (Frequent); squat and perform job functions (Frequent); perform "pinching" operations (Frequent); gross motor and fine manipulation with hands (Continuous);
reach overhead (Frequent); perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (Continuous); use both legs (Continuous); balance and coordination (Frequent); reach in all directions (Continuous); lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted (Infrequent); lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted (Infrequent); lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. (Infrequent); exert up to 50 lbs. of force (Frequent); vision requirements including 20/40 vision, color discrimination, depth perception;
good peripheral vision; hearing acuity with correction; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime; latex safe environment; tactile sensory functions; ability to maintain olfactory sensory function (Selected Positions); respirator qualification (Selected Positions).
