Position Summary

The Patient Check-Out Coordinator plays a vital role in the patient experience by handling check-out procedures, scheduling follow-up appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and providing necessary paperwork. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner upon check-out.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and procedures as needed.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for upcoming appointments.
  • Provide patients with necessary paperwork, receipts, and instructions for follow-up care.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient records and update demographic information as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and front desk staff to coordinate patient flow.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding scheduling and general practice policies.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office, customer service, or administrative role preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and medical scheduling procedures is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual.
