A Medical Technologist (MT) performs a variety of laboratory tests for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases; collects, receives, and processes laboratory specimens. Performs laboratory tests, preventive maintenance, quality control and instrument repair. Records, reviews and reports laboratory test results. Assures laboratory meets the standards set by accreditation agencies. Engages in teaching and training activities as well as other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director, General Supervisor, or Technical Specialist.

• Perform laboratory tests, preventive maintenance, quality control and instrument repair.
• Record, review and report laboratory test results.
• Ensure the laboratory meets the standards set by accreditation agencies.
• Engage in teaching and training activities and other duties as assigned by leadership.

• Education
  :
• Bachelor s degree plus successful completion of a technologist level exam given by ASCP.
• Bachelor s degree plus successful completion of a medical technology program and eligibility to sit for a technologist level exam given by ASCP.
• Associate degree in clinical laboratory sciences from an accredited college or equivalent. Successful completion of or eligible to sit for a technician level exam given by a national certifying agency.

• Completion of a MT / MLT program with clinical rotations.
• One to three years as a generalist or as a specialist in a specific area.
