Job Description
- Collect venous and capillary specimens using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and aseptic technique in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform bedside testing.
- Perform Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions.
- Provide instruction to students and personnel.
- Perform laboratory-related duties as requested by the Manager.

Work Shift Minimum Training and Education- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 6 months phlebotomy experience; or
- Enrollment in a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist program, Clinical Laboratory Science program, or certified Phlebotomy program with completed phlebotomy clinical rotation.
- Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous).
- Ability to perform job functions while sitting (Continuous).
- Ability to perform job functions while walking (Continuous).
- Ability to climb stairs (Infrequent).
- Ability to work indoors/outdoors in temperature extremes (Continuous/Frequent as specified).
- Ability to work from elevated areas (Frequent).
- Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces (Frequent).
- Ability to kneel, bend, twist, squat, pinch, and perform fine/gross motor movements (various frequencies).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted (Infrequent).
- Ability to reach in all directions and perform repetitive motions (Continuous).
- Visual and hearing requirements with corrected vision and hearing; color vision and depth perception.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
- Olfactory function (Selected Positions) and respirator qualification as required (Selected Positions).
