The Primary Care Paramedic provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted pre‑hospital care standards, and transports patients as required, under the direction of the Shift Superintendent.

Education & Experience

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in the Paramedic Program

Skills & Abiilties

• Primary Care Paramedic Certification, as per the Ambulance Act of Ontario
• Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A.E.M.C.A.) Certification Exam
• SWORBHP Certification or the ability to obtain
• CPR Certification (Heart & Stroke BLS Provider Level or equivalent)
• Immunizations as per Ambulance Service Communicable Disease Standards
• Physical Agility Certificate from Ottawa Paramedic Physical Abilities Testing site (OPPAT)
• Valid Class "F" Driver’s License
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
• Intravenous therapy skill set certified through the Ontario Base Hospital Group Medical Advisory Committee program (asset)

• Competitive Salary: $41.78 to $44.37 per hour
