Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $2,542 per week - 1852880

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR tech) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Columbia, South Carolina. This role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
  • Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
  • Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guide wires, and contrast agents
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
  • Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lb), push, pull, bend
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, move about when assisting with procedures or using department equipment
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, and handle irregular activity schedules with continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
