Overview
Certified Surgical Technologist Endoscopy (PRN) - Seacoast
New graduates are welcome to apply. BLS certification also required. Must be certified by the NBSTSA.
Responsibilities- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Be flexible, punctual, and willing to learn in the surgical environment.
- Work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring a safe operating room environment, proper equipment function, and patient safety.
- Ensure availability and preparedness of OR rooms, supplies, and equipment to support perioperative processes.
- Maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment with working knowledge of each device.
- Assist with positioning and prepping according to department and hospital standards and procedures.
- Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator and conduct additional counts as necessary.
- Assist with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
- Participate in surgical site and patient verification during the time-out procedure.
- Maintain the sterile field to ensure patient and employee safety through the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
- Prepare and pass off specimens as appropriate.
- Assist in lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients for surgical procedures using proper body mechanics.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and assist with terminal cleaning of the room.
- Use standard precautions and PPE when working around hazardous substances, including blood and body fluids.
- NBSTSA certification is required.
- BLS certification required.
