Medical Lab Technician II, AAMC Lab, Resource Pool

• Minimum Education Requirement
  :
  Associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• OR
  • Alternate Qualification
    :
    Official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and holds/held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.
• Minimum Experience Requirement
  :
  Relevant experience preferred. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Analytical skills necessary to determine proper specimen container and storage. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians and various other personnel.
• Minimum License Requirement
  : MLT: ASCP registered or eligible.
• Physical Requirement/Working Conditions
  :
  Walking or standing up to eighty percent of the work time. Subject to frequent changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Analytical skills necessary to determine appropriateness of laboratory order. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with reasonable accommodation determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
