Job Description SummaryThe Radiology Technologist I performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology, high technical competency, and the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include applying ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
- Temporary B SCRQSA license acceptable; ARRT registration must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to learn and operate new processes, tools, and equipment.
Job Requirements
Various physical abilities are required, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 15 lbs. Visual, auditory, and tactile sensory functions must be maintained. Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and qualify physically for respirator use if necessary.
Additional Job Details- Support or professional experience: 5 years or 0-2 years respectively.
- Must be registered with ARRT within 12 months of employment.
- Must hold licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
