Summary:
The Analyst will serve as an Energy, Energy Infrastructure & MLP expert across all DAC strategies and investment portfolios. Additionally, this role will be responsible for being the subject specialist for IRS Schedule K‑1 issuers and be the internal contact for both clients and their tax advisors regarding publicly traded partnerships, generating industry specific content for DAC’s Energy monthly as well as for other internal and external marketing pieces, may be asked to update and maintain IMG investment models but will have no portfolio management responsibilities.
- Energy & MLP Investment Research:
Conduct fundamental research on companies and partnerships within DAC’s Energy and Master Limited Partnership (MLP) investment universe using proprietary screening tools. - Company & Industry Analysis:
Participate in earnings calls and meetings with company management, maintain quarterly earnings notes, and produce company- and industry-level research reports. - Financial Modeling & Valuation:
Build and maintain financial models and projections, perform valuation analyses, update price targets, and provide model weighting recommendations. - Thought Leadership & Content Development:
Produce Energy and MLP investment commentary for internal research distribution and external monthly marketing materials. - K‑1 & Publicly Traded Partnership Expertise:
Serve as the firm’s internal subject matter expert on publicly traded partnerships and Schedule K‑1 issuers. Provide guidance on the tax considerations and investment implications of these structures to advisors, clients, and tax professionals. - Research Support:
Contribute to broader research initiatives and perform additional research-related responsibilities as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Advanced degree(s) in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field are preferred.
- CFP®, CFA®, CIMA®, or other advanced industry designation(s) are desired and may be required.
- Series 65 license is required.
- Experience with K‑1 issuers and an understanding of the tax implications of these issuers is required.
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including a demonstrated track record analyzing MLP and Energy companies.
- Experience with K‑1 issuers and the associated tax implications is required.
- Strong cash flow analysis skills, including the ability to evaluate the sustainability and growth of dividends or partnership distributions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
- Working knowledge of Fact Set, Bloomberg, Vestmark, or other trading and portfolio management systems is a plus.
