Financial Aid Coordinator – Loans

Job Summary

This Financial Aid Coordinator – Loans serves as a member of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFAS) Student Loan Unit. The position administers Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS, and Graduate PLUS Loans, as well as Private Educational Loans. Responsibilities include general loan administration, reviewing COD and disbursement reports, and processing one‑term loans. The coordinator also provides student advisement during peak periods and participates in federal financial aid application review and processing, applying professional judgment and eligibility criteria.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in financial aid program administration with analytical and complex processing capabilities, and accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Maintains confidentiality of records.
  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work; communicates thoroughly and accurately with a diverse population, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Makes independent but accurate judgments.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Direct Loan programs, COD system requirements, and University financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Works independently and collaborates within a highly integrated team that prioritizes service and responsible administration.
