Trueline’s client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a Benefits Administrator to join their team in Columbia, SC. The Benefits Administrator will lead the administration of complex retirement and benefits programs, collaborate with senior leadership and external partners, and ensure compliant and effective plan operations. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with deep retirement plan knowledge looking to make a strategic impact.
What You’ll Do as the Benefits Administrator:
- Oversee benefits and retirement plan administration, including defined contribution (401(k)) and defined benefit (cash balance) plans
- Coordinate and support Benefits Committee activities to align with business goals and compliance requirements
- Manage day-to-day operations of trusts, RABi Trusts, and retirement plan assets
- Collaborate with auditors, actuaries, trust departments, and third parties on 5500 audits and related processes
- Prepare detailed analysis and reporting on benefit plan performance and trends using advanced Excel
- Communicate complex benefits and retirement plan information to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
Must-Haves as the Benefits Administrator:
- Proven experience administering complex benefit and retirement programs, including defined contribution and defined benefit plans
- Strong understanding of 5500 filing requirements and audit collaboration
- Experience with executive compensation and deferred compensation arrangements
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and present data clearly
- Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with senior leadership
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional partners
Nice-to-Haves as the Benefits Administrator:
- Experience in banking, financial services, or trust department environments
- Familiarity with RABi Trusts and retirement plan investment practices
- Previous exposure to regulatory compliance in retirement and benefits administration
