What Are We Looking ForNovant Health Urgent Cares is currently looking for a Controller to join our finance team. Under the direction of the supervisor, the Controller is responsible for directing and managing accounting functions, which includes monthly financial statements, reporting, cost and budgeting, system testing, disbursements, cost allocation, accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, accounts payable and billing, as well as the quarterly and annual compliance areas.
Compiles financial information, consolidates and reports financial data monthly, quarterly and annually based on corporate policy and internal and external requirements. Complete special projects as assigned.
- Establish clear expectations, processes, and performance standards for the accounting team.
- Manage the financial statement close-out process and assist with the issuance of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports to management or external customers as required. Responsible for the month-end closing by setting the monthly-close calendar; reviewing for accuracy the financial statements.
- Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Drive improvements in accounting workflows, system integrations, and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain documentation and support for audits, sales tax filings, and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure transparency and alignment on financial matters.
- Responsible for training and various personnel functions including hiring and conducting performance evaluations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
- A minimum of 3-5 plus years of accounting experience
- A minimum of 1-3 plus years of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced ability in Microsoft Excel
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion with confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work well with a wide variety of individuals in a team-based environment.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to research, interpret, and report on complex data.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant is preferred but not required.
- Experience with SAGE Intaact is a plus
