Salary: $54, Constitucional (range $54,165 - $67,707)
Hours unfortunate: 37.5 per week (Standard Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm with 1‑hour lunch break; flexible schedule may be required)
Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources and Finance, the Budget Analyst assists with essential fiscal operations for the Division of Development. Responsibilities include accurate transaction processing, expense monitoring, budget support, reconciliation of financial reports, employee reimbursements, invoicing, purchasing activities, contract supervision, onboarding training, and ensuring fiscal accountability and compliance with university policies.
Responsibilities- Process employee reimbursements and invoice payments for the Division.
- Maintain procurement card and manage new and renewal contract monitoring.
- Assist with budgeting, monitor expenditures, and ensure timely approvals and compliance with purchasing guidelines.
- Provide financial and administrative support for contracts and purchase requisitions.
- Work with Talent and Administrative staff on division priorities and initiatives.
- Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, and projections.
- Assist onboarding and training of new development staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of related experience (or equivalent combinations of education, certification, and experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with USC policies, procedures, and systems.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and adapt to evolving responsibilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise administrative judgment.
- Team‑orientated; ability to lead and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and discretion in handling confidential matters.
- Quick learner of university systems and internal policies.
- Proficiency in negotiating and monitoring contract terms.
- Oversees financial operations including invoice processing, budget monitoring, and expense reporting.
- Supports procurement and contract administration per university guidelines.
- Provides timely reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
- Supports development staff onboarding and continuous training.
