Job Summary

CAD Technician at Lexington Medical Center. The Design Services CAD Technician is responsible for creating, maintaining, and coordinating design information using AutoCAD and other CAD software. The role communicates with the Director of Design Services, construction project managers, clinical user groups, engineers, field staff, and contractors to produce precise technical drawings serving as contract documents for construction, production, and infrastructure development.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Experience: 10 years in technical drafting, construction planning, or architectural design.
  • Alternative Path: Associate’s Degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or related field plus 5 years of experience.
  • Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
  • Required Training: Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD software.
Essential Functions
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or other drafting tools to create precise, detailed, fully coordinated electronic plans.
  • Coordinate with teams, manage deadlines, and ensure project efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, and civil engineering principles; clear communication of drawing information through plan views, elevations, sections, and 3D renderings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and engineering drawings with precision.
  • Attention to detail; accurate measurements and alignment with project requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and drafting standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to streamline design processes.
  • Maintain organized electronic design files; keep As‑Built information up to date.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
