Responsibilities- Lead Process Engineers to design, optimize and solve manufacturing process challenges in a safety, quality, and operational performance context.
- Provide leadership and support for the CTEC facial tissue converting processes at the Beech Island Mill; report to the Folded Products Asset Leader and follow general objectives.
- Provide Process Engineering support for the Beech Island CTEC Converting Assets with focus on the Folded Product assets - Multifolders & Multipack.
- Support daily manufacturing asset performance to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery/OEE, and Cost objectives; personal performance linked to asset performance.
- Carry out responsibilities safely and deliver improvements that reduce safety risk for operators, maintenance personnel, and others.
- Lead the preparation and execution of the OS portion of TIP cycles and Annual Planning Workshops; develop asset annual glide paths.
- Identify and solve technical issues; lead structured group problem solving sessions to eliminate root causes.
- Lead product improvement, product quality, and/or cost reduction trials and implementation.
- Lead or support capital or major maintenance projects from conception through commercialization.
- Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
- Assist in developing others within the area of expertise.
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, or Pulp & Paper Science from an accredited college or university.
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering role, which may include co-op or internship experience.
- Ability and flexibility to work in a manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation.
- Flexibility to travel up to 15%.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Strong self-motivation to move fast and achieve results with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including attendance in early morning Tier meetings.
- High integrity and trustworthiness, including 100% compliance with the KC Code of Conduct.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with Operators, peer Engineers, and Leadership.
- Experience using manufacturing analysis tools such as statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
