Are you a seasoned survey professional who excels at leading complex projects, guiding teams, and delivering high-quality technical results? Do you enjoy collaborating with engineers, planners, and project leaders to drive innovative solutions across transportation infrastructure projects?

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Project Surveyor to join our Survey Geospatial Team in Columbia, SC, where you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing projects that support safer, smarter, and more resilient transportation systems. This is an amazing opportunity for a survey expert to lead various survey projects while providing QA/QC oversight to ensure precise, dependable results for clients.

What

You'll Do:
  • Coordinate and supervise survey projects from initiation through completion, working closely with clients to define scope, estimates, schedules, approvals, and delivery milestones
  • Direct the execution of boundary, topographic, photogrammetric, construction, and GPS control surveys
  • Perform QA/QC reviews, including postprocessing quality checks to uphold accuracy and compliance
  • Organize, schedule, and oversee multiple field crews, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-documented field operations
  • Partner with survey managers, engineers, and planners across the company on proposals, pursuits, and active projects
  • Support the development of qualification materials and direct the preparation of survey deliverables, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations
What You Bring:
  • High school diploma required; A.A.S. or B.S. in surveying or related field preferred (required if not professionally licensed)
  • Minimum of 15 years of related survey experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D required;
    Micro Station experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills with the ability to represent the firm professionally with clients and the broader public
  • Ability to travel as needed preferred
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required unless holding a B.S. from an accredited survey program
  • Valid U.S. driver's license required

Salary Range

$50.48 - $57.69

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
