Senior Structural Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company. In this role you will be trained and mentored under supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices and gain valuable exposure to company standards and exciting projects.

• Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for steel bridges; pre‑cast, pre‑stressed concrete bridges; cast‑in‑place flat slabs; and miscellaneous structures, with a particular emphasis on complex or specialized designs.
• Assume a lead role in complex structural design efforts; assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules; QC final work product.
• Oversee project design from conception to completion in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule; coordinate with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project.
• Provide constructability reviews; perform independent peer reviews on project submittals.
• Review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing structural design codes and contract plans and specifications.
• Serve as the Engineer‑of‑Record for major, minor, and miscellaneous structural designs.
• Communicate high‑level concepts effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients, subconsultants, and relevant government agencies.
• Build client relationships, help identify business opportunities, meet with clients, and maintain client accountability.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, sub‑consultants, and contractors as necessary.
• Take an active role in proposal activities, including write‑ups and preliminary and final reviews.
• Perform other marketing duties, such as providing timely resume updates, project write‑ups, proposal support, and participating in marketing initiatives as required.
• Ensure timely completion of timesheets, expense reports, and labor hours management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE).
• 8+ years of experience.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.
