Salary Range: $41,258 - $51,572

Location: USC Columbia Campus

Job Summary: Performs duties in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of the chilled water and high pressure steam distribution system and other associated equipment of the USC Columbia campus, consisting of over 200 acres, including the operation and maintenance of the auxiliary steam and hot water boilers as well as associated equipment and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and repair large steam and chilled water distribution and air conditioning systems.
• Operate auxiliary steam and hot water boilers and associated equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma and five years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of large steam and chilled water distribution and air conditioning systems.
• Experience in utility plant operations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Lead by example, solve problems, take initiative, develop strong customer relationships, measure cost and performance, keep accurate records, communicate effectively, develop proper procedures, define actions to resolve specific problem situations, and communicate to management.
