Position Details

This position works 196 days per year. It is scheduled 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. During the school year, the position follows the approved calendar for secretaries. The position comes with treasurer responsibilities with a $1,751 annual stipend.

Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked at least 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1.

Benefits and EEO

Insurance: EVSC offers four Anthem medical insurance plans. Full medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members. Insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the 30-day probationary period. Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use EVSC Health & Wellness Centers at no cost.

Additional Benefits: EVSC provides accumulated paid time off for Sick Time, Personal Business Days, Snow Days, and 24 Paid Holidays. EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers for childcare at special employee rates. This position will automatically be enrolled in PERF with a defined benefit and an ASA. Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Eligible employees may enroll in EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans, and EVSC offers voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.

EVSC provides a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Summary and Essential Duties

Summary: Responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the school principal while serving as the primary point of contact for the school community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as confidential secretary to the principal.
  • Make and receive telephone calls, take messages, and route calls.
  • Enroll new students, withdraw students, and update student information.
  • Maintain files and records, e.g., free/reduced lunches, employee payroll, mentor/mentee, school accounts.
  • Greet visitors and provide direction and assistance as needed.
