Join Our Team and Make a Difference! Whetstone Academy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Grades 5-9) to join our passionate team. This position requires a qualified individual to provide specialized instruction and support to students in grades 5-9 with diverse learning needs.
ScheduleMonday - Thursday 7 am to 4 pm and Friday 8 am to 4 pm
SalarySalary scale: $47,500 - $78,000
Responsibilities- Provide direct instruction and support in core academic areas
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technology to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education
- Experience working with middle school students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and assistive technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
