Our Pre‑K program is designed to prepare students for kindergarten with a strong foundation in academics, social skills, and emotional development—all within a warm, engaging, and play‑based environment.

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Pre‑K Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is energetic, nurturing, and has a strong understanding of early childhood development. This teacher will lead a classroom of 4‑ and 5‑year‑olds, planning and implementing a curriculum that supports cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth.

• Create and implement a developmentally appropriate and engaging curriculum aligned with school goals and early learning standards
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and independence
• Use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles and developmental levels
• Observe, assess, and document student progress and communicate regularly with families
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrative staff to maintain consistency and high‑quality programming
• Ensure daily classroom routines, transitions, and schedules run smoothly
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization in compliance with Bright Oak’s health and safety policies
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• At least 1–2 years of experience working in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
• Knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum planning, and behavior guidance strategies
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Must meet all state licensing requirements for child care providers

Bright Oak Preschool Academy is an upcoming preschool being built off of Maybank Highway on John's Island, SC. We are a privately held, locally owned school that will serve students from infants (6 weeks) to Pre‑K (5 yrs). Our school will embrace a child‑centered, project‑based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and a work environment that fosters collaboration, inclusivity, creativity, and safety. In an effort to support local working parents, we will provide care from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm year‑round with the exception of most federal holidays, including the week between December 25th and January 1st.
