Overview
Provides instruction to students enrolled in introductory-level history courses. This is an in-person position that will be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools. Duties include conducting appropriate learning activities, maintaining effective instructional management, participating in all required orientation, meetings and trainings, adhering to all college-designated deadlines, and participating in Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessments.
LocationThis position is located on various Midlands Technical College campuses and off-campus instructional sites.
Qualifications- Master of Arts in History; or Master of Arts in a related field plus 18 graduate credit hours in history.
- Past experience in teaching introductory college history courses, especially in the community college setting is preferred.
- Provide instruction and manage learning activities for introductory-level history students.
- Attend and participate in required orientation, meetings and trainings; meet college deadlines; participate in SLO assessments.
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
