Polaris Tech Charter School is looking for a full time substitute teacher for the  school year. We seek those who will join an outstanding education team to unleash student potential and cultivate aspirations - where students are career-focused, college‑ready, and invested in the community.

The substitute will stand in to:

• Holds High Expectations for Equitable Outcomes: The Navigator will create a rigorous but supportive environment in which all students are held to high academic expectations. The Navigator will seek evidence of achieving goals to help all students meet expectations, and will apply differentiated instructional strategies beyond the traditional one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
• Embraces Competency‑Based Learning: The Navigator will recognize that not all students learn at the same pace and differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Values All Learners: The Navigator will personalize instruction, recognizing that all students bring different strengths and needs to the classroom, and will adapt instruction to meet individual academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Has a Growth Mindset: The Navigator will continually enhance skill sets through professional development, use a growth mindset inside and outside the classroom, and encourage students to take risks and learn from successes and failures.

• Experience with iReady is preferred.
• Power School experience.
• Willingness to work with other navigators to ensure learning continues when the Navigator is out.
• Ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web‑based tools).
• Ability to support and guide parents as well as students.
• Knowledge of effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques.
• Ability to develop effective relationships with pupils, parents, navigators, staff and the community.
• Outstanding references from current and former supervisors.
• Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report.

As a PRN member of our staff this position will not be available for any benefits.
