Position Summary: The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Columbia invites applications from pathologists majoring in medical education for a 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty appointment. The successful candidate will teach pathology in the new integrated organ system‑based curriculum of USCSOM and may undertake student mentoring, committee work, and research participation. Patient care responsibilities are not required.
Responsibilities:
- Teach pathology in the integrated organ system‑based curriculum.
- Develop and facilitate interactive/self‑directed learning, case‑based, team‑based, and small‑group sessions.
- Mentor students, serve on faculty committees, and participate in ongoing research programs.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and other personnel.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Earned M.D., D.O., D.V.M., and/or Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
- Experience in medical pathology education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate across the department.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in medical pathology education (same as required).
- Strong track record in interactive and case‑based instruction.
