Position Summary

Part‑Time/Temporary Academic Coach & Student Support – 20 hours per week at $20/hour within the USCA Student Success Center, located at Aiken College, University of South Carolina.

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Academic Coaching, Tutoring, and Early Warning, and in collaboration with the USCA Library, this role provides direct academic coaching to students and supports the daily operations of the Student Success Center.

Key responsibilities include developing effective learning strategies and academic skills for students, delivering high‑quality student support services, and maintaining a welcoming, efficient center environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct academic coaching to students.
  • Assist students in developing effective learning strategies and academic skills.
  • Support daily operations of the Student Success Center.
  • Deliver and promote high‑quality student support services.
  • Maintain a welcoming, efficient center environment.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in academic support, tutoring, teaching, counseling, or a related educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student‑centered environment.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and scheduling systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience training student employees.
  • Experience with EAB Navigate.
  • Familiarity with tutoring center operations or peer tutoring models.
  • Knowledge of student development theory or disability services.
